The Red Sox and Yankees took different approaches this offseason.

New York made a big splash by acquiring power-hitter Giancarlo Stanton, while the Red Sox basically just changed their coaching staff.

Speaking to reporters in Fort Myers on Monday, Red Sox owner John Henry and chairman Tom Werner addressed the move by their top competition in the AL East.

"Job well done," Henry said.

"I think it’s good for the rivalry," Werner added.

While the Yankees likely will have one of the most powerful lineups in baseball, Werner noted how good he believes the Red Sox' pitching staff is.

"The Yankees will have a very strong team and we have a very strong team too," he said. "I think our pitching, John alluded to it. If we’re healthy I think we’ve got the best pitching staff, starting pitching ending with [Craig] Kimbrel. I think we have the best pitching staff in the American League."

As for the Red Sox' lineup, they believe the power is there, as long as the approach at the plate changes, which they believe will with the new coaching staff in place.

"I think that we’d have more power if we had, we would’ve had significant power last year if we had a different approach," Henry said. "That’s my opinion. It may not be true. But I think we have a very good offense."
