The Red Sox will get second baseman Ian Kinsler back beginning Friday night, but they will also lose a player -- third baseman Rafael Devers.

Devers was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain as the corresponding move to get Kinsler back on the roster.

Kinsler missed 11 games after being placed on the disabled list on August 4 with a left hamstring strain. Following the trade from the Angels, in three games with the Red Sox the veteran second baseman went 4-for-10 with two stolen bases, three runs scored, and two RBI.

Devers had been playing well of late, as he has reached base via hit or walk in each of his last 11 games since July 23, going 11-for-41 in that timeframe. This is the third time Devers has been placed on the DL this season.

It would seem Eduardo Nunez will get the bulk of the time at third base in his absence.
