On Monday, it appeared Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano was coming to New England, perhaps as its new defensive coordinator, but now that doesn't appear to be happening.

According to FS1's Bruce Feldman, Schiano is staying at Ohio State contrary to reports from Monday that he was leaving for the Patriots.

It is worth noting this is a big time for Ohio State as Wednesday is national signing day and him leaving could impact recruits going to the school. Schiano spent time with the Patriots as a consultant to Bill Belichick after his time coaching the Buccaneers and the two are close friends.

If Schiano does not come to the Patriots it would seem linebackers coach Brian Flores will be the next defensive coordinator.
