After losing a wide receiver earlier in the week when Brandin Cooks was traded to the Rams, the Patriots gained another receiver Thursday night.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots have signed wide out Jordan Matthews to a one-year deal. He reportedly visited the team earlier in the week.

Matthews was drafted in the second-round of the 2014 draft by the Eagles. He was traded to the Bills prior to last season. In 10 games, he caught 25 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown. He had over 800 yards receiving in each of his three years in Philly and primarily plays out of the slot.

He will compete for a roster spot during training camp.
