FOXBORO -- Due to back and ankle injuries, Rob Gronkowski has played in only one of the last three games, and also hasn't looked like himself for the majority of the season thus far.

In seven games played, he has 29 catches for 448 yards and a touchdown.

Speaking Friday in the Patriots locker room, Gronkowski was asked if he feels 100 percent.

"We don’t do percentages around here," he said. "Kind of some rules."

But, will he play Sunday against the Titans?

“It’s up to the coaches," Gronkowski said. "A coaches decision.”

Gronkowski missed Week 7 against the Bears, played in Week 8 in Buffalo, which is essentially a homecoming for him, and then missed last week against Green Bay.

Following Sunday's game, the Patriots have their bye week, so it may make most sense to give the tight end an extra week of rest in order for him to be as healthy as possible for the stretch run. Gronkowski wouldn't address that directly, but did say being on the field is the most important thing.

“I mean, definitely the most important thing is contributing to the team and being out there with the boys," he said. "Just working hard every single day. Extra days, extra work and just doing the best I can. Everything is going smooth and we’ll just see what happens from here.”

The tight end was also asked if he's having fun this year.

"I am just working hard," he said. "Sometimes you have to put the work in and do what you have to do.”

Gronkowski added: “It’s been more challenging, but it's [just] little obstacles in the way. It’s life. You have to take them on. That is what I am doing and I just got to get back to where I need to be and be myself when I get back. It will all be good, just have to take it on and work harder.”

Bottom line, it seems like Gronkowski is itching to get back on the field, but knows his health is most important.

“I can’t wait when I am back, whenever it is, to be back out there and give it all to my teammates, to the coaches and give it all I have because they have been great and it always is great working with them," Gronkowski said.

"It’s going good," he added. "I am working hard right now and that is the track I am looking at and I just see positivity and I see it going strong in the future.”
