FOXBORO -- The following Patriots players are inactive for Sunday night's game against the Packers: offensive lineman Brian Schwenke, offensive lineman Shaq Mason, tight end Rob Gronkowski, running back Sony Michel, tight end Jacob Hollister, linebacker Nicholas Grigsby and offensive lineman Cole Croston.

Schwenke and Mason were ruled out Friday, which was the reason why James Ferentz was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday.

With Gronkowski and Hollister out, Dwayne Allen will be the only active tight end. This was also the case against the Bears. At running back, it will be similar to last week against the Bills when James White and Kenjon Barner were the only active backs. It remains to be seen whether or not Cordarrelle Patterson will get carries again, but we wouldn't be surprised.

Gronkowski (ankle/back) and Michel (knee) were both questionable.

Up front, Ted Karras will start in place of Mason with Ferentz serving as the interior backup. Marcus Cannon will return from a concussion, so LaAdrian Waddle will be the swing tackle.

With Gronkowski, it's worth wondering if the Patriots will also keep him out next week to try and get his body as healthy as possible with the bye week coming after that.
