The Patriots have two preseason games left at Gillette Stadium the next two Thursday nights, but what the organization and fans are really looking forward to is Sunday, Sept. 8 when the Patriots open the regular season at home against the Steelers.

Coming off the Super Bowl win over the Rams last February, the sixth Super Bowl banner will be raised before the game in a pre-game ceremony prior to Sunday Night Football.

Robert and Jonathan Kraft joined The Greg Hill Show Wednesday as part of the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon and discussed the night.

“Think about how cool it is for us as we were fans and dreaming about getting one and here it is, we’re about to start our 26th season and we have the privilege of doing this sixth one," Robert said.

Jonathan added: “It will be a fun night. We look forward to a lot of energy. It’s nice to open up with the Steelers, too because obviously between our two clubs over the last couple decades that’s been a real rivalry. The banner ceremony should be great and it should be a great football game to kickoff the season.”

It was also noted the night has been tabbed the "Legends Rise Banner Ceremony."

The Patriots will continue the preseason this Thursday when the Panthers come to town.
