Everyone knows by now the Rob Gronkowski trade rumors from last Friday, which turned out to be false -- the tight end was not traded.

Gronkowski himself addressed them on Saturday, calling them "hashtag fake news."

Now, speaking to reporters following the 2018 Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards lunch on Tuesday, Robert Kraft offered his own strong denial.

“I guess when your team is good, people are looking for things," he said. "I’ll just tell you, it’s a bunch of hogwash that I vetoed some trade. That was never in the works. It’s just completely made up and I think we have to be careful in society today that people just can’t come out and say things and this bit about us trading Gronk to the 49ers, or Tennessee — there’s just no basis to it and it gets a life of it’s own. I just want to go on record at today’s event that you all understand there’s no truth to that and people shouldn’t be able to do that.”

Gronkowski is signed through the 2019 season and reportedly will not attend the final week of voluntary OTAs this week after not attending any of the voluntary sessions this offseason.

The next time the tight end will be on the field with his teammates will be for training camp beginning in late July.
