FOXBORO -- The Patriots' Week 11 bye week came at a good time for a number of players, including running back Sony Michel.

The rookie suffered a second knee injury of the year against the Bears in Week 7, which forced him to miss the next two games before he returned against the Titans in Week 10. Much like the rest of the team, it was not a great game.

Michel finished with 31 yards on 11 carries in the Patriots' blowout loss.

Speaking Monday inside the Patriots locker room, Michel said he's feeling good after the week off.

“I feel good,” he said. “I felt good last week when I played. It’s great.”

Michel also indicated he's in a better place now than he was when he returned from his first knee injury Week 2.

“It’s two different times of the season,” he said. “I feel better. I feel strong. It’s all about just finishing strong.”

What did he do during the bye week?

“It’s more of just trying to do more,” Michel said. “Just work on certain things, my reads in the running back, blocking, all aspects of the games.”

The Patriots really need Michel to be like the Michel of Weeks 4-6 when in the three games he had at least 98 yards rushing, including two 100-yard games -- all Patriots wins.

For the Patriots to make a deep playoff run, they need a solid running game and it starts with Michel.
