It looks like the Patriots have a new pass rusher.

According to a source, after visiting the team on Tuesday, free agent linebacker James Harrison is signing with the Patriots. ESPN's Field Yates was first to report the news.

[UPDATE 5:30 p.m.]: The team has confirmed the signing and it released linebacker Trevor Reilly to make room on the roster.

The 39-year-old was released by the Steelers on Saturday and cleared waivers Monday. Harrison was reportedly unhappy in Pittsburgh this season after playing in just five games and totaling one sack.

He's spent all but one of his 15 seasons in the league with the Steelers, as he played 2013 with the Bengals, so if the two teams meet in the AFC title game, it should create endless storylines.

Harrison, a five-time Pro Bowler, will upgrade the Patriots' pass rush, as right now besides Trey Flowers there is Eric Lee and Marquis Flowers.
