Even though the Patriots' offseason is just two weeks old, the consensus on Tom Brady's future has gone back-and-forth.

Listen to your team news NOW.

In the days immediately following the season, it seemed the most likely scenario was Brady leaving New England and signing with another team. But, now it seems like many are coming back to Brady and the Patriots ultimately figuring something out.

This is what ESPN's Tedy Bruschi said on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Wednesday.

“It’s good (that Josh McDaniels is back). It makes Tom feel comfortable about him being there," he said. "I think either way, the more I think about it, it’s just the right thing for both parties involved for Brady to return. It’s leverage season and Brady is going to go out there and hear the offers and the offers are going to be elite and people are going to talk about it. The Patriots are going to come and meet him in the middle ground.

"Eventually, I think Tom Brady is back in New England. It’s not only best for Brady, but it is best for the Patriots. I think that is what is going to happen.”

Brady can re-sign with the Patriots at any point, but he cannot sign with any other team until March 18. Also, he cannot talk to other teams until the legal tampering period begins on March 16.

Things get interesting when it comes to his dead money. If Brady re-signs with the Patriots before March 18, it would only be $6.75 million, but if it happens after March 18 (no matter what team he signs with), it would be $13.5 million.
