Julian Edelman doesn't seem to get the attention he deserves across the league.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Some media pundits have even said the Patriots wide out doesn't crack the top-25 in the entire league in terms of wide receivers.

Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Monday morning, Tom Brady defended Edelman, calling it "bogus."

“For me, he’s a spectacular player and he will be in the Patriot Hall of Fame, and he could be a Pro Football Hall of Famer too at some point," he said. "What he’s done and what he’s accomplished over the course of his career is nothing short of spectacular. He’s a great teammate. He does all the dirty work, not just his spectacular performances, his ability to run routes, catch the ball, run after catch, but blocking, blocking for other guys. I think his day-to-day mentality really sets the tone for everybody. We put Julian in a position to do all the toughest jobs, basically. That is where he relishes. Those things cannot go unnoticed because when he is not in there you can see the difference it has on our offense.

“He does a lot of things a lot of other players in the NFL can’t do. He’s just a spectacular player. That is definitely kind of a bogus vote in my view. He is a spectacular player, one of the greats in the NFL, no doubt.”

Through six games, Edelman has 38 receptions for 449 yards and two touchdowns.

The Patriots defense is also off to a tremendous start to the season, on pace to be the best statistical defense in NFL history.

“Those guys are playing so spectacular," Brady said. "They have so many versatile players and they are making play after play after play. They all hustle to the ball. They attack the quarterback. I mean, I can’t say enough good things about those guys because I have been watching it now for two-and-a-half months. We practice against them and they make it hard to do anything consistently well over the course of a drive, quarter, half, game. They are just putting a lot of pressure on the opposing offense.”

Brady and the Patriots will take on the Jets a week from Monday.
