FOXBORO -- Danny Amendola has been one of the Patriots' most dependable offensive players this season, especially with Julian Edelman out for the season.

Amendola has 23 receptions, which equals his 12-game total last season, for 267 yards and a touchdown. He’s on pace to finish with 86 catches, 1,001 yards and four touchdowns, all of which would match or be career-highs.

He's also been incredibly clutch, with seemingly the majority of his catches going for first downs. Last Thursday in Tampa, five of his eight receptions went for first downs.

Tom Brady had high praise for Amendola Wednesday, calling him "uncoverable."

“He’s had such a great year,” Brady said. “I can’t say enough good things about Danny and everything he’s meant to our offense. He’s so tough. To me, he’s just uncoverable. You turn on the tape, he’s getting away from people, no matter what the route, no matter who’s on him, the leverage, distance of the route. He’s just been so great for us this year, and I’m going to try to keep finding him.

“When you have that kind of trust, and you see it play after play after play, as a quarterback, you want the ball to go to the guy who’s open. Danny’s open.”

Amendola spoke in the locker room afterwards and was informed of Brady's comments.

“Whatever Tom thinks,” he said. “I don’t know.”

Regardless, without Amendola it is hard to imagine where the Patriots would be this season.
