While the Patriots beat the Jets 30-14 on Sunday, it wasn't all good news.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Julian Edelman left the game just before halftime with what the team called a chest injury and was later ruled out. After the game, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport said he suffered a rib injury and X-rays came back negative.

Speaking on The Greg Hill Show Monday morning, Tom Brady noted how tough Edelman is and also how much of a hit the offense takes without him on the field.

“He’s a tough guy. Jules, I have been around a lot of players, I mean there’s very, very, very few guys who have Julian’s toughness," he said. "I don’t know exactly what all the reports show. I think today and Tuesday are good indicators of that. He’s tough. He’s one of the best players who has ever played for this organization. I love being out there with him and if he’s not out there the offense takes a huge hit. Hopefully he can be out there as soon as he’s healthy and ready to go.”

In just under a half on Sunday, Edelman finished with seven catches on 10 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown. His status for Sunday is obviously still up in the air.

As for the Patriots defense, it still has yet to allow a touchdown this season. The scores Sunday came off a muffed punt and then a Jarrett Stidham pick-6. Brady is very impressed with what he sees on that side of the ball.

“I am so happy with how our defense is playing," he said. "I am so happy with how they have played all year. The leadership of that particular side of the ball I think of Devin (McCourty) and Patrick (Chung) and Jason (McCourty) and Steph (Stephon Gilmore) and some of the younger guys that are playing -- Kyle (Van Noy), Jamie (Collins) and Dont’a (Hightower), Michael Bennett and Adam (Butler). I know there are other guys that I am not mentioning, but it is a group of guys that I have so much confidence and belief in what they are doing. It’s been really fun to watch. It’s been really fun to watch them play with the attitude, the confidence.”

Brady and the Patriots will take on the 3-0 Bills Sunday in Buffalo.
