Tom Brady: 'We’ll be fired up and ready to go' Sunday vs. Chiefs

Sunday night against the Chiefs might have a little extra meaning for the Patriots.

Kansas City will enter the game a perfect 5-0 on the year and have beaten the Patriots two out of the last three times. The Patriots have won two straight games to move to 3-2 on the year and a win Sunday will likely get them back to being the favorites in the AFC.

Appearing on Westwood One Radio prior to Monday Night Football with Jim Gray, it appears Tom Brady and the Patriots are ready for the challenge.

“They have played us pretty tough and I think it is a big challenge," Brady said. "They are 5-0 and they are that way for a reason. They have got ahead of all these teams they have played. They have an offense that is scoring a lot of points. Like [Sunday] in the game against Jacksonville, they got five turnovers. They are good on both sides of the ball. They are well-coached, and they are hot. They are playing well and playing with a lot of confidence. Anything less than our best game won’t get it done. It is a great challenge for us.

"We’re really going to see where we measure against a team that is playing as well as any team in the NFL, probably the best in the NFL. I am looking forward to it. I know it is still early in the week and we have a lot of prep to do, but there will be no shortage of urgency and focus this week. We’ll be fired up and ready to go.”

Kansas City blew out the Patriots, 42-27, in Week 1 at Gillette Stadium last year.
