Tom Brady has taken less money for years, but maybe his attitude has changed.

The 40-year-old has base salaries of $14 million for the final two years of his contract and cap hits of $22 million, but it appears Brady wants more money.

Speaking on Wednesday's edition of NFL Up to the Minute, Ian Rapoport said Brady would like a new contract before the start of the season.

"What's his salary going to be? He still has two years left, making $14 million [per year], this was the only question that I kind of discussed after the Super Bowl this past year was is Tom Brady going to get a new contract?," Rapoport said. "At this point it is still unresolved. My understand is, yes, it's something he wants before next season."

NFL Media's Mike Garafolo added, "It's not a pressing issue. It's not anything that is contentious right now. But Brady would absolutely be interested in revisiting this contract."

Brady hasn't been at the Patriots' offseason workout program this week and reportedly hasn't committed to playing in 2018, although many close to him believe he will.
