A large majority of the Patriots team will be on the field for the first voluntary OTA session of the spring on Monday, but apparently not Tom Brady.

According to multiple reports, including Ordway, Merloni and Fauria, the quarterback will not be attending the session.

Brady hasn't attended any other Patriots offseason activity, but some thought he would since this is the start of Phase 3 where 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 work gets done on the field. Phases 1 and 2 are more about conditioning rather than actual football activities.

This is out of the norm for the quarterback, as even when he missed the voluntary workout sessions in the past because he was in California, he still returned for OTAs.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport adds, it's unclear if Rob Gronkowski will be present, but both he and Brady are expected at mandatory minicamp in June.

The media will be present at Tuesday's session.
