INDIANAPOLIS -- With the most cap space in football heading into free agency, and former Patriots coach Brian Flores leading the team, the Dolphins have been rumored to be in the mix for Tom Brady for quite awhile now.

Listen to your team news NOW.

At the Super Bowl, owner Stephen Ross appeared to shut down the rumors when he asked why would Brady want to come to Miami when it is rebuilding.

Then speaking at the NFL Combine Tuesday, Flores seemed to agree.

"I agree with Steve as far as, ‘Why would he want to come to Miami?’ I do," he said. "I’ll leave it at that. I do agree with Steve."

Flores added: "Look, I think Fitz (Ryan Fitzpatrick) did a good job, a really good job, last year. His leadership is something that really helped us a year ago. I’m only focused on the guys that are on our team right now. As far as Tom or any other free agents, that’s coming up. I understand the question but right now, we’re having conversations, we kind of look at everything. Chris (GM Chris Grier), myself, the personnel staff, we look at everything, every avenue. Chris has got a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C for everything. And that’s a good thing. We kind of bounce a lot of ideas off each other. It’s a really good working relationship and we’ll see what happens as we move forward."

The Miami coach said he doesn't get asked much about Brady, but did say there's a lot of speculation on his future.

"I don’t want to speculate. That’s what it is right now. A lot of speculation, a lot of smokescreens. I’m worried about our team. That’s where my focus is, where my mind is at all times," he said. "How do I help our team get better? How do I help our players, our coaches do better. And I think the combine’s part of that."

Some, including Tom E. Curran on Dale & Keefe, have pointed out Miami seems to have a scripted answer when it comes to Brady. Could it mean something? Possibly. But, if we're to believe what Flores and Ross have said, Brady will not be on the Dolphins in 2020.

The Dolphins have Josh Rosen on their roster as well as the No. 5 overall pick where they have been linked to Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.
