FOXBORO — The Patriots held practice No. 14, the final open training camp session of the summer, Tuesday afternoon on the upper grass fields behind Gillette Stadium. In hot and humid conditions, the intensity level was there, which was aided by one of the larger crowds of the summer.

The nearly two-hour session was held in full pads.

Who didn’t practice: Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead, Marcus Cannon, Harvey Langi and Matthew Slater

Who returned: None

Who was injured during session: Marquis Flowers (unknown), Trent Harris (unknown), Dwayne Allen (unknown), Phillip Dorsett (leg/knee)

Play of the day: Tom Brady had a perfect pass to Chris Hogan deep up the left sideline.

Here are more observations from the session.

-- Aside from the five players to miss the practice all together, defensive end Trey Flowers, cornerbacks Ryan Lewis and Duke Dawson and receiver Kenny Britt all were limited. Dawson was banged up Monday and Britt continues to have yet to take part in a full session this summer.

-- Injuries were the story as Flowers and Harris left the field with unknown injuries. While Allen didn't leave the field, he walked around gingerly for most of the practice and stopped taking reps about midway through. Dorsett was the biggest news, as while he running a crossing route over the middle of the field during 11-on-11 work and he went down to the ground in a hurry. The defender immediately motioned for the training staff and they tended to him on the ground for just shy of a minute. After a trip to the medical tent and sitting on a Gatorade cooler, he ended up by catching passes from a trainer while not moving and then walked off the field without assistance. The team may have dodged a bullet as it looked serious at the time.

-- After appearing to get banged up Monday, running back Jeremy Hill didn't see much action. We'll see if he plays Thursday.

-- Brady and Brian Hoyer saw even reps in 11-on-11 work. It was a fairly uneventful day for both quarterbacks. Meanwhile, Danny Etling didn't get any meaningful 11-on-11 reps.

-- In early 1-on-1 work, Jonathan Jones had an impressive pass break up of a pass intended for Eric Decker.

-- In hurry-up work, Decker, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Rob Gronkowski and James White worked with Brady.

-- Jonathan Jones, Cyrus Jones and Keion Crossen all saw meaningful reps in the slot during 11-on-11 work.

-- Cordarrelle Patterson hasn't returned kicks in about a week now, which could mean he's dealing with something. It has been all Riley McCarron and Braxton Berrios.

-- Rookie linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley continues to impress.

-- Before getting hurt, it was an up-and-down practice for Dorsett who made a few nice catches, but then a bad drop on a Brady deep ball.

-- Jacob Hollister stayed late after practice to get some extra work with Brady.

-- Several Bruins players were in attendance including Charlie McAvoy and Ryan Donato.
