Tom Brady held his annual Best Buddies football game Friday night at Harvard Stadium.

Several prominent Boston figures, donors and current Patriots took part, including Brian Hoyer, James White, Joe Cardona, Marcus Cannon, Joe Thuney and Ted Karras. In addition, retired Patriots Troy Brown, Dan Koppen and Christian Fauria played as well.

Brady was the quarterback for both teams, which saw Team Pepsi beat Team Shaws, 80-72.

One of the plays of the game was a long touchdown pass from Brady to Edelman in the first quarter (see below), but the night was about the Best Buddies foundation.

“I think it’s a great program, Best Buddies,” White said at halftime. “They’re helping people less fortunate than us but have the capabilities of taking care of themselves and kind of managing their own lives, so it’s pretty cool what they do. I found out about (Best Buddies) from my uncle who worked in the same building as their headquarters down in Miami. He kind of introduced me to them, and then it just so happened Tom happened to work with them, holding this event. I’ve been to a couple other events, too."

It's also worth noting Karras took home the award for "Biggest Drop" for not one dropped pass, but two passes that fell through his hands. Brady noted it's a good thing he doesn't need to catch passes being an offensive lineman when speaking on the award afterwards.

The 2019 Best Buddies Challenge will continue Saturday with various bike races, including the longest being a 100-miler from Boston to Hyannis Port, and also a 5K run/walk. The event concludes with a gathering plus a live concert by Flo Rida in Hyannis Port.
