FOXBORO — The Patriots held their 11th training camp practice Wednesday afternoon on the upper grass fields behind Gillette Stadium. It was held in full pads, which was unusual for a day before game practice, but was ended roughly 30 minutes early because of a downpour.

As expected with the game Thursday, it was not a high intensity session.

Who didn't practice: Marcus Cannon, Sony Michel, Harvey Langi, Brian Schwenke

Who returned: Jason King

Who was injured during session: None

Play of the day: Phillip Dorsett had a nice grab on a Tom Brady deep-throw up the sideline. This was notable as he dropped the same pass Wednesday.

Here are a few more observations from the session.

-- There were several players limited including Kenny Britt, Rex Burkhead, Matthew Slater, Trey Flowers, Jonathan Jones, Nate Ebner and King. All these players left for the lower field, which is usually reserved for players rehabbing injuries. Burkhead had been a full participant to this point in camp.

-- The session, which lasted roughly an hour and a half, was a little more intense than a standard walkthrough.

-- After not participating much the last couple of sessions, Brady was a little more active in 11-on-11 work. He threw one pass to new receiver Eric Decker, but it was dropped. Like Wednesday, Brian Hoyer had a solid day and rookie Danny Etling may have had his best practice to date. He seems to be getting a little more comfortable.

-- Cyrus Jones once again saw extensive time returning punts.

-- Jeremy Hill fumbled and was forced to take a lap for the second straight day.

-- Deatrich Wise deflected a Brady pass at the line.

-- As the rain came down, the Patriots continued practicing but after about 20 minutes of heavy rain practice was ended about 30 minutes early.

-- The Patriots will host the Redskins Thursday night at Gillette Stadium.
