The blockbuster trade between the Yankees and White Sox on Tuesday night is impacting a former member of the Red Sox.

The White Sox announced top prospect Yoan Moncada has been promoted to the majors. Moncada was traded to the White Sox this offseason as part of the Chris Sale deal.

In Triple-A Charlotte, he's hit .285/.381/.452 with a 12 homers, nine doubles, three triples and 17 steals (in 24 attempts). He should play every day at second base, which is where he's played all year.

This won't be his major league debut, though. In 20 plate appearances with the Red Sox last year while playing third base, Moncada recorded four hits, but also struck out 12 times.
