FOXBOROUGH -- Watching Julian Edelman play this season, it's clear the wide receiver has played through a lot of pain at times, and for the first time all year missed a practice on Wednesday.

Listen to your team news NOW.

While he returned on a limited basis Thursday and Friday, it's worth wondering if the team would give him a week off to try and get healthy? Of the three opponents left (Bengals, Bills and Dolphins), the Bengals appear to be the easiest, so if there was a week to have him take off it would be this.

On the flip side, it's hard to imagine what the offense would look like without him.

Edelman is dealing with shoulder and knee injuries after battling through a rib/chest injury earlier in the year.

The veteran did not speak to reporters this week and did not make his usual appearance on The Greg Hill Show Friday morning.

Officially, Edelman is one of seven players questionable.

Here's the complete Patriots injury report.

LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee)
DL Byron Cowart (concussion)
WR Julian Edelman (knee/shoulder)
OL Ted Karras (knee)
CB Jason McCourty (groin)
WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle)
DL Danny Shelton (shoulder)
