The Patriots have another receiver in town.

Former Browns and Bengals wide receiver Andrew Hawkins announced on Uninterrupted, he’s signing a deal with the Patriots. Hawkins said it wasn’t about the money and he wanted to join a contender. He also mentioned what a thrill it will be to work with Tom Brady.

Hawkins worked out with the Patriots last week and does most of his work in the slot.

The now 31-year-old had his best season in 2014 with the Browns when he had 63 catches for 824 yards and two touchdowns. Last year he hauled in 33 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns. It was also the only season he played in all 16 games.

The Patriots don't appear to have room on the roster for him, but Hawkins could be a player to bring in for training camp and have around in case any of the top receivers were to get injured.

New England’s roster is at 90 players, so it will need to release a player to make room for Hawkins.
