After having three of his calls at first base overturned by replay in Monday's Game 3, Angel Hernandez was behind the plate for Game 4 and according to Yankees starter CC Sabathia, he wasn't much better.

Sabathia took the loss in the Red Sox' 4-3 win to claim the ALDS and move on to the ALCS against the Astros.

“He’s absolutely terrible," Sabathia told reporters, including Tim Healey of Newsday. "He was terrible behind the plate today. He was terrible at first base. It’s amazing how he’s getting jobs umpiring in these playoff games.”

He added: “He shouldn’t be anywhere near these playoff games.”

The Yankees starter did say Hernandez wasn't the difference in the game, but it's clear how he feels about him.

Red Sox starter Rick Porcello was told of Sabathia's comments and he came to Hernandez's defense.

“Throw the ball over the plate, CC," he said, via James Wagner of the New York Times. "I thought Angel Hernandez called a good game. You got to put the ball over the white part of the plate and then you get the strikes called.”

Sabathia allowed three runs on five hits in just three innings of work.
