It was only a matter of time before Yoan Moncada joined Andrew Benintendi in Portland. The High-A Salem Red Sox announced Sunday night Moncada, Ben Taylor and Jalen Beeks have been promoted to Double-A Portland. The Sea Dogs are off on Monday, so it's possible Moncada will make his debut Tuesday night in Portland. Moncada appeared in 61 games with Salem where he slashed .307/.427/.496 with four home runs and 34 RBIs. He also has stolen 36 bases, while only being caught eight times. The second baseman has been hot of late as in 14 games in June he's hitting .345. Taylor, a right-hander, was a seventh-round pick in last year's draft. The reliever has an 0-2 record with a 2.60 ERA in 15 games this season. Over 45 innings he has 56 strikeouts. Beeks, a left-handed starter, is 4-4 with a 3.07 ERA over 13 starts this season. He was a 12th-round pick in the 2014 draft. Salem is on its All-Star break, which is generally the time for promotions. Shortstop Mauricio Dubon could move up soon as he's playing in Tuesday's All-Star Game, but noting has been made official. For more Red Sox news, visit weei.com/redsox.
