The Red Sox send Wade Miley to the hill Saturday afternoon in Toronto against a familiar opponent in knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who will pitch against the Red Sox for the sixth time this season. Miley (11-10, 4.41 ERA) last pitched eight days ago, allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings against the Rays. He left with a 4-3 lead, but the Boston bullpen could not hold it, as Tampa Bay scored five in the eighth for an 8-4 decision. The left-hander is 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA in two starts against the Blue Jays this season, both in Toronto. On July 2 he picked up the win despite allowing four runs on seven hits and seven walks in five innings. He previously faced the Jays on May 8, a 7-0 Boston loss in which he allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk in six innings, with eight strikeouts. In three career starts vs. Toronto, Miley has a 9.24 ERA. Dickey (10-11, 4.08 ERA) is coming off a loss against the Yankees on Sunday in which he surrendered five runs on seven hits and two walks in 7 2/3 innings. He had won his previous seven decisions, posting a 2.68 ERA in that 11-start stint. Dickey has faced the Red Sox five times this season and has yet to record a win, going 0-3 with a 4.94 ERA in 31 innings. He last faced the Sox on Sept. 8, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings. He left a 1-1 game that his team would go on to win 5-1 in 10 innings. Following the Blue Jays' 6-1 win in Friday's series opener, Toronto has won 17 of its last 21 home games. Dickey has played a big part in that streak, winning five straight home starts and compiling a 1.69 ERA in his last six appearances at Rogers Centre.
