And now for some positive sports news: David Pastrnak is back.

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed Monday morning that the Bruins' star right wing did travel with the team to Toronto Sunday evening and that he is expected to practice with the team Monday.

Pastrnak missed all but one day of the Bruins' two weeks of return-to-play practices in Brighton, as he dealt with international quarantine protocols and then had to go back into quarantine after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

"He looks great," Cassidy said of Pastrnak. "Probably needs a haircut. Other than that, I expect him to be ready to go and excited to be back with his teammates. … It’ll be good to have him back. I expect he’ll pick up fairly quickly."

Linemate Patrice Bergeron echoed Cassidy's sentiments and said he thinks Pastrnak's chemistry with himself and Brad Marchand will come back pretty quickly.

"For us, our chemistry, we usually pick up where we left off," Bergeron said. "For him it's just going to have to be getting used to getting back on the ice and skating and getting his rhythm back and timing and all that. We'll try to help him as much as we can, but I don't know if he'll really need that much help. He's one of those guys that gets back and he's so talented and it always seems effortless, so I'm expecting him to get back. Obviously he might be rusty a little bit, but we have a little bit of time before we start."

Ondrej Kase, who like Pastrnak missed all but one day of camp, did not travel with the team to Toronto and will join the team later. Nick Ritchie, who missed the Bruins' last three practices before leaving, did travel but is not expected to practice Monday.

The Bruins have an exhibition game against the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night before opening their round-robin tournament on Sunday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

UPDATE: Pastrnak did in fact practice Monday.
