Patriots legend Tedy Bruschi is recovering from a stroke he suffered on Thursday, according to a statement released by his family on the Tedy's Team Instagram page.

Bruschi recognized the warning signs -- arm weakness, face drooping and speech difficulties -- immediately, the statement says. He is "recovering well" following treatment at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Bruschi, of course, also suffered a stroke during his playing days back in February 2005. There was initially concern that it would be the end of Bruschi's career, but he wound up recovering quicker than expected and returned to the field for the Patriots in October of that year. He went on to play four more seasons before retiring in 2009.
