After being listed as a game-time decision earlier in the day, Bruins winger Tommy Wingels did not take warmups Saturday night and will miss Game 2. That means rookie Ryan Donato will make his playoff debut.

Wingels was knocked out of Game 1 Thursday night midway through the third period when he took a brutal hit to the head that earned Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri a three-game suspension.

"I didn’t like the hit. I think I was in a vulnerable spot and I think as a game, as a league, as players, that’s the stuff we don’t want in our game," Wingels said earlier in the day Saturday. "It was handled with, and I think the league did a good job. Now it’s completely in the past, there’s no need to talk about it, that’s kinda my comment on it."

Donato will slot in on the Bruins' third line alongside Noel Acciari and David Backes, with Danton Heinen dropping down to the fourth line with Tim Schaller and Sean Kuraly. Donato had five goals and four assists in 12 regular-season games before being a healthy scratch for Game 1.
