While the basketball world parties All-Star weekend away in Los Angeles, word around the NBA is that the party could be coming to Boston in 2022.

A story broken by Yahoo's Chris Mannix, the belief around L.A. is that Boston has a 'strong likelihood' to host in 2022 'should they want it' in their backyard.

But you can expect Boston to have some competition (or feel the wrath of jealous cities), as some NBA cities such as Sacramento, Portland, Memphis, and Oklahoma City are still looking to host their first NBA All-Star Game. The fans of Portland, in particular, have been extremely vocal when it comes to their desire for the best All-Star weekend American sports has to offer to come to their city.

Boston has not hosted the NBA All-Star Game since 1964.

As a city, Boston has not hosted any All-Star Game of any sort since 1999's MLB All-Star Game at Fenway Park.
