Bruins downgrade David Krejci to 'week-to-week'

Absent from practice for the third straight day, the Bruins have downgraded David Krejci from day-to-day to week-to-week, according to Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Injured in last Thursday’s win over the Canucks (an injury the B’s originally believed to be minor), Krejci was a late-scratch from last Saturday’s overtime loss to the Sabres because of the upper-body ailment, and has been ruled out for the next two games (Thursday against the Sharks, Saturday night against the Kings) at the very least.

With Krejci down, David Backes moved to center on the club’s second line between Jake DeBrusk and David Pastrnak for Wednesday’s practice, and could be a fit there if Thursday’s morning skate comes with the same line-two look from Cassidy.

Krejci has one goal and six points in six games this season.
