Bruins winger Anders Bjork's first NHL season is over.

Completely missing from the ice since an awkward collision with Anaheim's Francois Beauchemin knocked him out of a Jan. 30 loss, the 21-year-old Bjork underwent a successful left shoulder arthroscopy and labral repair on Feb. 20, according to B's team physician Dr. Peter Asnis.

Bjork, who opted to forego his senior season at Notre Dame to sign with the Bruins last year, recorded four goals and 12 points in 30 games for the Bruins this season.

The surgery, which was performed by Dr. Asnis at Massachusetts General Hospital, comes with an expected recovery time of approximately six months. Such a timeline could allow Bjork to get back on the ice for most of next fall's training camp and preseason slate.
