The hits just keep on coming for the Celtics, who will be without guard Marcus Smart indefinitely, according to a report from Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

Per Charania, Smart suffered a torn tendon in his right thumb and will seek second opinions on his thumb before deciding his next move. The injury apparently occurred when the 6-foot-4 Smart dove for a loose ball in Sunday's 99-97 loss to the Pacers, a game that saw Smart finish with 20 points (with a 6-for-12 mark from behind the arc) and eight assists in nearly 36 minutes of action.

This injury is to the same thumb Smart injured when he punched a wall at an L.A. hotel in January, which forced Smart to miss 11 games.

The 24-year-old Smart is averaging 10.2 points and 4.8 assists in 54 games for the Celtics this season, and this news comes on the heels of injuries to both Kyrie Irving (knee, currently considered day-to-day) and Daniel Theis (knee, out for season).
