Report: Chances Nick Caserio returns to Patriots are slim, likely heading to Houston next season

It looks like not much has changed since the offseason and Nick Caserio likely will be headed to Houston after the season.

Listen to your team news NOW.

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the chances are slim Caserio signs a contract extension with the Patriots when his deal expires after the season, and it is very likely he joins the Texans in a "prominent role in 2020."

When Houston fired general manager Brian Gaine this offseason it targeted Caserio, but the Patriots filed tampering charges and no such move happened. The Texans do no have a true general manager this year, and that has furthered speculation that Caserio will indeed be heading there in 2020.

Caserio has been with the Patriots since 2001 and has been their director of player personnel since 2008. He works very closely with Bill Belichick, but ultimately it is Belichick that has the final say on all decisions.
