Off Day podcast: Hart and Hannable get in heated debate over Josh Gordon

A major topic on this week's Off Day podcast was Josh Gordon.

Gordon was officially reinstated by the NFL last week and has been at the Gillette Stadium facility this week. He won't play in Thursday's preseason game, but likely will be ready to go for the regular season.

Andy Hart and Ryan Hannable opened the podcast discussing the move where Hart stated the Patriots planned on having Gordon on their roster this entire offseason, which sparked a heated debate.

“I think they were planning on it to some degree,” Hart said.

“How? They drafted a receiver in the first round who is basically Josh Gordon. They also signed Maurice Harris, Dontrelle Inman. They did not plan to have Josh Gordon back,” Hannable fired back.

“This was a boat-load of JAGS that they signed," Hart countered.

Hart argued drafting Harry was for the long term.

"Is Josh Gordon here for the next five seasons? You need to replace Josh Gordon," he said. "When does Bill do something — a year too early or a year too late? Look when he drafted Nate Solder and then Matt Light plays and Nate Solder takes over. N’Keal Harry is here for the next five years.”

Hannable disagreed with that point.

“They had other needs on the roster that were way more important than wide receiver," he said.

The debate continued (begins at 1:45 mark) and afterwards the pair got into their 53-man roster projections as well as some bold predictions.
