Keefe: Of course Paul Pierce thinks he had a better career than Dwyane Wade

Paul Pierce made headlines last week when he said on ESPN he thinks he had a better career than Dwyane Wade.

Gabrielle Union, Wade’s wife, responded to the claim on Twitter this weekend and this got Dale and Keefe talking about it on Monday.

Rich Keefe said while there are other players you could list ahead of Paul Pierce, he thinks any player in the same sphere as another naturally thinks of himself as the better player.

“If you’re in the same ballpark as somebody, as a great player, aren’t you automatically going to say you’re better?,” Keefe said.

“Paul Pierce, my favorite player,” he continued. “Dwyane Wade, one of my least favorite players … Unfortunately, Wade is better … there’s probably a handful of guys you could put over Paul Pierce.”

When Dale wondered if Pierce was saying this for the show or if he really believes it, Keefe said, "I think it's part of who he is. I think he does believe it. I think a lot of guys would be the same way."

Keefe also thinks Union is taking the whole thing too seriously.

“It’s just a fun sports debate,” he said.
