The Patriots and Lions will meet in primetime Sunday night in Detroit.

New England is coming off a Week 2 loss to the Jaguars on the road, while the Lions are 0-2 following losses to the Jets and 49ers One of the biggest storylines of the game is Matt Patricia facing his old team in the Patriots, as well as there being a number of Lions players with ties to New England.

There was plenty of news surrounding the team coming out Sunday morning and it should continue all the way up to kickoff. Keep it here all day and throughout the game for all the news and updates.

Patriots are now 1-2 on the season, will face the 3-0 Dolphins next week.

8:37 p.m.: Sony Michel returns the kickoff to the 25 yard line.

8:34 p.m.: Matt Prater kicks it through the uprights and its good. Lions take a 3-0 lead. 

8:31 p.m.: Stafford to Golden Tate for an 18 yard first down.

8:28 p.m.: Stafford moves the chains, Lions first down.

8:25 p.m.: The Patriots go three-and-out.

8:22 p.m.: The Lions kick off to the Patriots. Patterson returns it to the 42 yard line.

12:15 p.m.: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday NFL Countdown the Patriots almost traded Rob Gronkowski to the Lions around the draft, but the tight end threatened to retire and thus the deal did not happen. This is obviously relevant today considering the two teams meet Sunday night.

12:00 p.m.: One of the bigger questions going into the game is will newly acquired receiver Josh Gordon be active? According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, it looks like it will be a gametime decision, as Gordon tests his hamstring pregame.
