Tuesday offered a good night for Boston sports fans.

Both the Bruins and Celtics were in action, with the local hockey team taking on the Blackhawks at TD Garden and the C's heading to Philly to meet up with the Sixers.

Two games, two wins.

For the B's, the victory over Chicago offered a solid message considering Bruce Cassidy's team's rash of injuries. (To read more about the job Cassidy has done, click here for Matt Kalman's column.) The win puts the Bruins in fourth-place in the Eastern Conference, just behind the Islanders and Toronto.

The Celtics' win was one of the more encouraging of the season, managing to top the team directly in front of them in the Eastern Conference standings, the Sixers, without Kyrie Irving or Aron Baynes. (For Josue Pavon's takeaways from the win in Philly, click here.)
