Tom Brady reportedly among a few offensive starters not expected to play Thursday

The Brandin Cooks-Tom Brady connection has been on full display over the first few weeks of training camp, but it might be a little longer before it's shown in a game.

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Brady, Cooks, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski are among a number of starters expected to sit in Thursday's preseason opener against the Jaguars.

The first team got a lot of work in the joint practices against the Jaguars defense, which is likely the reason for the number of offensive starters expected to sit.

Of course, Bill Belichick has the right to change his mind at any time, but as of Wednesday night this is the plan.
