Curran: Brady could be playing elsewhere after 2019

Appearing on the Dale & Keefe Show Wednesday, Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston elaborated on his take when it came to Tom Brady's future.

When asked by Rich Keefe if his previous suggestion that 2019 could be the quarterback's last year with the Patriots or in the NFL altogether was a product of sourced information or just opinion Curran answered, "Combination of both."

Curran went on to explain how he sees things unfolding for Brady over the next two years.

"I just don’t think he’s playing past 2019," he said.  "I do think think the two sides while Brady would have liked to realize more money than the incentive-laden contract, I don’t think either side is agitating for extending past 2019. If 2019 comes and goes they don’t have a remedy at quarterback and Tom plays at a decent level whether Bill Belichick is here or not maybe they talk about it. They wanted to leave their options when they had Jimmy Garoppolo if they could find a way to keep him here so I don’t think they’re going to be in a rush to re-sign Brady. Over the course of time I think Tom has been of the mind, ‘You know what, I didn’t love the way it went over the last 18 months why do I want to re-sign right now? Why do I want to jump?’ Things can change, but that’s my suspicion, if he plays past 2019 it will be in another city."
