Watch: Wiggy beats Reimer in Landsdowne Street sprint, despite Reimer trying to cheat

The Boston Marathon may not take place until Monday, but the city is already buzzing about another closely contested road race.

It’s no secret to WEEI listeners that Alex Reimer and Jermaine Wiggins have been feuding over the last several months over morning show casting couch supremacy. On Sunday, they were bickering about their respective athletic prowesses, which led Rob Bradford to propose settling their differences with a 40-yard dash down Landsdowne Street. Naturally, it produced some controversy.

As you can see in the video, Reimer clearly gets a head start. He contests he paused afterwards, though, allowing Wiggy to make up some ground. The Super Bowl champion wound up beating Reimer by a hair.

Wiggins says his victory means Reimer will give up one of his weekly morning show shifts to him, though no handshake agreement was made. Reimer, conversely, is proclaiming victory –– despite losing.

“I did INADVERTENTLY start early, but I paused and gave Wiggy time to catch up. So actually, I am the winner,” he tweeted.
