Ken Laird

Ken is an Electrical/Computer Engineering graduate of Northeastern University who wasted his degree on a career in radio. After humble beginnings as a Dennis & Callahan intern in 2001, Ken moved up the ladder in the Pittsburgh market from producer to Steelers & Penguins beat reporter and talk-show host, while contributing on local TV and serving as ESPN’s national Steelers correspondent. In 2011, Ken went to work for the Pittsburgh Tribune Review as a reporter and daily web-radio host on TribLIVE Radio. After first re-joining WEEI as a part-time producer and contributor for Red Sox and Bruins coverage, Ken took a full-time position as producer of the Kirk and Callahan Morning Show in June of 2016.

What’s with the backlash against Tom Brady for selling his TB12 immunity supplement “Protect”? This is America, right? If you hate him for this, you hate our country. It’s the perfect timing to sell it, and the product is not even immoral. Boosting your immune system is a perfectly reasonable idea...

It took an act of God, but baseball has been given the chance to save itself. Will they embrace the opportunity that this Pandemic has presented? Or will they be left standing at the crossroads like the famous bluesman Robert Johnson, trying to refresh their rideshare app? The three summer months...

This feels weird. Just six weeks ago I wrote a column entitled ‘Why Does Everyone Hate Tom Brady?’ where I declared the media needs to celebrate, not ridicule, the greatest QB of all time. But with every Brady ‘Tompa Bay’ jet ski Instagram video he posts from Derek Jeter’s beachfront mansion, Brady...

In 1994 Robert Kraft inherited a marquee QB - a No. 1 overall draft pick in Drew Bledsoe - which helped to jumpstart his new stewardship of the Patriots franchise. Perhaps in 2021, Robert’s son Jonathan will have his own No. 1 pick QB to carry The Patriot Way into a new era as he fully takes the...

Ted Williams went to war. Mike Trout went to bed. Will that be the legacy of how our generation’s greatest baseball player reacted in the aftermath of our “Pearl Harbor moment?” Some are uncomfortable with the Coronavirus-to-war comparisons, such as the Pearl Harbor reference from Surgeon General...

On Monday via teleconference, Bill Belichick gave his first comments about Tom Brady since his longtime QB left for Tampa. Belichick declared that for the past 20 years, every single decision he made had Brady in mind. As George Costanza famously told Jerry Seinfeld, “It’s not a lie if you believe...

If the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin or WEEI’s Nick ‘Fitzy’ Stevens have their way, the Patriots will trump the world’s current dumbest idea ever - letting Tom Brady get away - with a new dumbest idea ever: trading up in the 2020 draft to select Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa. Volin wrote last week that if...

We’re months away from the return of sports in America, that we know. But there are still winners and losers. Some New England sports figures are more affected by the absence of games than others, and in fact some might not even be minding the layoff. So with the obvious disclaimer that none of...

Tom Brady has defeated Father Time. Now he must defeat Bradshaw Envy. The other Hall of Fame ‘TB’ quarterback, former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw, bludgeoned TB12 in The Athletic recently, saying “Why in the world does (Brady) want to keep on playing at 43 other than to prove to New...
